Dan Rutherford has had a busy week. Friday he took a few jabs at Jesse White for how poorly he runs the office. Rutherford claim that the office is too outdated to be effective. He refers to the new law that charges a late few when license plate stickers are not renewed. The problem is that the notices warning the driver that the plates will expire shortly have not been sent out in a timely manner. The driver is not notified, but he or she is still charged a late fee. Many people do not even know this new law exists.
I think this sounds like a scam to generate revenue for the state. Hopefully, Rutherford will come up with policies that have the citizen's best interest in mind and not the state's pocketbook.

Dan Rutherford is a Republican running for Secretary of State. He realizes it is a challenge to run against an incumbent, but he is up for the challenge. He is a senator whose district includes Southern LaSalle County. He feels that the budget is the main concern in the office, everything else is secondary. He intends to put ethics back into politics. He also believes that the office of the Secretary of State should be in the business of customer service. His ideas include making appointments to obtain your license. He believes his business experience will give him an adavantage as Secretary of State. Obviously, the current system of treating people like numbers is not too successful, his ideas sound like a nice alternative. The following articles are neutral, they don't really encourage or discourage you to vote for Rutherford.
